Fountain and washhouse

LA MARTRE

The presence of this fountain is attested since 1842, but it is probably much older. 1909 marks the date of a restoration and the installation of the distribution plate.

The fountain and the wash-house are leaning against a house wall. An inscription has been engraved "1909, Richard Marie-Ferdinand Lucien Mayor". Buckets can be placed on the bars. It can be seen that a tap has been added to the right of the basin, with metal bars underneath. There are two unequal basins, the first one is for rinsing while the second one is for washing. A paved gutter surrounds the two basins.
