The Verdon Gorges remain accessible and as spectacular as ever

Friday 3 April 2026

Despite a recent landslide, many iconic sites in the Verdon Gorges remain open and continue to offer exceptional views of the Verdon Gorges

   - On the Aiguines side, you can still access the magnificent Col d’Illoire, a must-see viewpoint overlooking the gorges
   - The start of the Col d’Illoire hike remains accessible

Temporary closure of the Corniche Sublime (D71 road)

Following this landslide, the Left Bank of the Verdon (D71 road) is closed to traffic from March 30th to June 30th to ensure everyone’s safety.

Inspections are currently underway to prevent any risk of further rockfalls before repair work begins.

Closure details

  • • From Aiguines: closure at the Col d’Illoire viewpoint
  • • From Trigance: closure just past the Le Grand Canyon hotel-restaurant, at Les Cavaliers

A wonderful opportunity to (re)discover the Verdon in a new way

Even with this temporary closure, the Verdon remains an exceptional destination. It’s the perfect opportunity to take your time, explore new viewpoints, and fully enjoy nature

We will keep you informed of any updates to the situation.
