A Sound Walk Along Lake Sainte-Croix

BAUDUEN

Wearing headphones, a mobile phone or an MP3 player, let your ears guide you on a stroll through testimonies and collected sounds about the links that local people have with water, the Verdon river and its tributaries.

On this walk, explore the shores of the lake through the words of those who live here, and more specifically through the residents of this village. Here you will hear from those who know the history, those who have lived through it, those who talk about everyday life, and those who ponder the future.
In Bauduen, as you wander through the maze of its narrow streets, you can admire the ancestral craftsmanship evident in the “calades,” cobblestone alleys paved with pebbles from the Verdon.
The route also reveals a rich array of trees typical of Provence: the white mulberry, once essential for silkworm farming; plane trees and chestnut trees, generous providers of shade; and the holm oak, whose acorns, once ground, served as a substitute for coffee during World War II.
