Magali et René, artisans, producers and the proud owners of La Ferme de la Célestine in Moissac-Bellevue!

Friday 21 August 2026

Today, we’re off to Moissac-Bellevue to meet Magali and René, artisans, producers and the proud owners of La Ferme de la Célestine (Célestine's farm), a little haven of peace and the perfect spot for lovers of beautiful creations… and delicious homemade jams.

So, tell me, what do you do?

Magali: I grew up in Biot, near Nice. My father was a ceramist and passed on his expertise and passion for the craft to me. He was also a potter, so I had moulds made to recreate the shapes of his creations (vases, pots, plates, cups, etc.). So I devote my days to creating ceramics, which involves the stages of moulding, firing, glazing and painting.

René: My father was a basket-maker and taught me his craft. I also paint and help decorate Magali’s creations.

What about the jams?

Magali: I also make jams and jellies; 20% of the fruit I use comes from our garden (figs, plums, apples, red berries, redcurrants). I get my other apples, pears, citrus fruits and almonds from local producers near the Sainte-Croix lake and the Durance Valley. My speciality is the ‘13 desserts’ jam, which I make before Christmas; it goes very well with cream cheese or vanilla ice cream.

How did you come to join Moissac-Bellevue?

We’re both half from the Var and half from the Alps; we had a preference for the Haut-Var area, and it just so happens that Moissac-Bellevue offers a particularly interesting variety of willow for basket-weaving.

Who do you work with?

We work with a Parisian designer who has a great sensitivity for basketry and pottery.
We are eager to work with other local organisations; our goal is, above all, to contribute to the local economy.

In your opinion, what makes the Haut-Var area so charming?

In 27 years, we’ve never grown tired of this setting and the variety of landscapes it offers. The transition between the seasons is particularly marked and gives rhythm to the year; we love seeing the colours change and enjoying the fresh air of the Haut-Var area.
