Following a landslide, the Verdon Left Bank (the D71 road) is closed to traffic from August, 18th to August, 20th or even August, 21st to allow for work to clear the cliff.
Closure details
• From Aiguines: closure at the Col d’Illoire viewpoint
• From Trigance: closure just past the Le Grand Canyon hotel-restaurant, at Les Cavaliers
Due to rock-clearing operations, the area must be completely secured and the Col d’Illoire hike will temporarily inaccessible in both directions.
We will keep you updated on how the situation develops and when access will be restored.
Despite a recent landslide, many iconic sites in the Verdon Gorges remain open and continue to offer exceptional views:
- On the Aiguines side, you can still access the magnificent Col d’Illoire, a must-see viewpoint overlooking the gorges
- On the Trigance side, you can head to the Artuby Bridge and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Artuby Gorges.
