Following a landslide, the Verdon Left Bank (the D71 road) will be closed to traffic starting August 18 and for several weeks, to allow for work to clear the cliff.
Closure details
• From Aiguines: closure at the Aigle Campsite
• From Trigance: closure just past the Le Grand Canyon hotel-restaurant, at Les Cavaliers Cliff
Due to rock-clearing operations, the area must be completely secured and the Col d’Illoire hike will temporarily inaccessible in both directions.
We will keep you updated on how the situation develops and when access will be restored.
Despite this landslide, many iconic sites in the Verdon Gorges remain open and continue to offer exceptional views:
From Trigance, you can head to the Artuby Bridge and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Artuby Gorges, then continue on to The Cavaliers Cliff, which offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Grand Canyon.
